Need to log into your course?

1 - Can’t even login to the course

Try these 4 steps (in this order)

(1) Confirm it’s not the course platform

The course is hosted on Thinkific. Check to see if Thinkific is down. If so, try again later.

(2) Login using this URL

Sometimes direct links that take you to a specific lesson or course don’t work unless you’re already logged in.

Try logging in using this general school URL: https://courses.echorivera.com/users/sign_in

(3) Try your other email (most common issue)

90% of the time members can’t login because they are trying to login with the wrong email.

Your account is connected to the email used to process your payment into the course.

This might be your work email, when you normally use your personal email (or vice versa).

Look for your course welcome email. It was sent to the email address associated with your course enrollment (except for the issue noted above, about university emails).

(Or, just try all your different email addresses).

If you are in multiple courses, and you used 2 different emails when enrolling, then you technically have 2 different accounts — and each course will be under your different accounts.

  • We’ve recently noticed a strange thing happening with email addresses.

Some universities have set up a redirect for emails that is causing some confusion with logins.

This usually happens if you’ve ever had an email with the university that was structured like: firstinitiallastname@university.edu

But now maybe your university is using emails structured like: firstname.lastname@university.edu

So, at some point, you may not even be using or seeing the firstinitiallastname@university.edu email anymore…but it’s the one that gets added to our system because of the redirect.

And what happens is in our system, we only see your old email address…but you only see your new email address when you get the emails.

    Weird, I know!

If you remember your old email, try that as your email and see if you can login. If so, then once you login you can go into your account profile to change the email to the new one you’re using.

If not, reply to one of the course emails (for verification purposes) and let us know what’s going on.

(4) Reset your password (2nd most common issue)

If neither of those work, then it’s probably because of a password issue.

Even if you’re convinced you’re typing in the right password…if you’ve gotten to this point and still can’t login then reset your password.

Or, if you were enrolled as part of a group and can’t find your welcome email/password setup email, then this option will still work for you.

(And remember to check all of your email addresses for the password reset email).

Still can’t login?

2 - Can login, but videos aren’t playing

If you can login and you see the course in your dashboard, then you still have access to the course and we aren’t doing anything on our end to stop you from watching videos.

If you can login but weird things are happening, then it could be a variety of things:

Try a different browser.

The course works best on Chrome.

Maybe the school platform down?

The course is hosted on Thinkific. Check to see if Thinkific is down. If so, try again later.

Any chance your workplace is blocking the videos?

If you work for a government agency, then there could be some firewalls in place blocking you from watching the videos.

Test whether your IT department has firewalls in place and/or is blocking the videos somehow.

For example, if you’re using a work computer, try your personal computer (outside of your work’s network).

If so, you’ll need to work with your IT department to get the course unblocked.

Does your computer need to be updated (and/or restarted)?

Sometimes when computers aren’t fully updated, weird things happen.

I can’t tell you how many times updating and restarting fixed a problem I was having.

Try that and see if it helps.

Try again tomorrow.

Honestly…sometimes things just don’t work one day, and work fine the next.

Try giving it a little bit a time (like a day).

3 - Access expired sooner than expected.

We do not control the exact time your course expires, this is set by Thinkific.

Everyone’s course expires at midnight UTC — NOT your timezone at midnight.

We understand this is not intuitive, so we secretly add a few extra days to everyone’s enrollment to account for this time zone difference.

That way, everyone has the entire access period stated for the course plus one day (even with the UTC time conversion).

In addition, everyone’s course onboarding/welcome email — and the course reminder emails — have the following language (or similar language) about this:

Course access expires XX months from the date of this email.

Here is how you can log into your course to find your expiration date...however...it's like super duper important to know that access does NOT expire at midnight your time, on that day.

You will NOT have the full day of your last day to complete the course. Please plan accordingly!

Course access expires on the date listed in your course at midnight UTC. This is the time set by Thinkific, and not by us. We do not have control over this.

⚠️ I recommend that you put in your calendar that your expiration date is AT LEAST 2 days before the date listed inside your course, to ensure it doesn't expire before you expect it to.

If you would like to purchase a renewal to your course to continue access, please contact us at hello@echorivera.com for the details.
